May result

With a cloudy day and rain in the air, Cearth and Richard thought an easier shoot was in order. It always amazes me how, by just changing the angle of a trap by a few degrees, completely changes the difficulty of the stand. As a result, the shoot in May was relatively easy and high scores were seen throughout all the leagues.

Highest score of the day was from an A league shooter for the 2nd month in a row: L Major who shot a terrific 48.

AA class winner P. Moser 47
2nd M. Garrad 46
3rd G. Holliman 43
A class Winner L. Major 48
2nd J. Ferrari 45
3rd M. Kempner 43
B Class Winner S. Pain 42
2nd R. Sorrell 38
3rd S. Cartwight 37
C Class Winner A. Raza 39
2nd A. Saunders 30
3rd G. Lines 28

May shoot report

None of the stands posed any real problems this month. Stand 6 was the most difficult with the R-L crosser being fast and low. As a result, the scores were all generally quite high and this was statistically the easiest shoot of the year so far with an average of 34.93.

Stand 1 - Simultaneous pair crossing from right to left, shot from the trees.
First target was close and overhead, so you had to be quick to get them all.
         5 people straighted this stand.

Stand 2 - Driven standard dropping right in front of the shooter followed by long Right to Left standard crosser.
First target was very easy, dropping right in front of the shooter. Second target was deceptive though and quite tricky to judge the lead.
As a result of the second target, only 5 people straighted this stand.

Stand 3 - High dropping target from the trees on the left, followed by standard going away.
First target needed to be shot quite high, otherwise it was dropping very quickly..
         7 people straighted this stand.

Stand 4 - Right to left quartering standard, followed by overhead standard going away.
No real problems for the majority of shooters.
Second easiest stand of the day, 11 people straighted this stand.

Stand 5 - Right to left crossing standard followed by standard blaze going away.
Again, fairly straightforward stand with no real problems.
13 people straighted this stand and it was the easiest of the day.

Stand 6 - Crossing pair, Right to left followed by Left to right on report.
Right to left target caused a lot of problems, but if you were quick, or ambushed the target it was possible!
Only 1 person straighted this stand and it was the hardest of the day.
