March result

Another good turnout again on Saturday and something obviously worked well as there were not too many long delays waiting at stands.

M. Garrad continues to get near perfect scores with another 48. That is twice this year already! A mention also goes to Helen Wade in the B League who scored 42. This was clearly the top shot in the B league and joint 4th overall for the entire shoot, so well done Helen.

AA class winner M. Garrad 48
2nd P. Moser 46
3rd L. Haysom 43
A class Winner J. Ferrari 40

March shoot report

A slightly unexpected set of results for the shoot this month. Many people felt it had been the easiest shoot so far this year however it has the lowest average of the first 3 months, so statistically it has been the hardest shoot of the year so far!

Stand one had a layout that had never been tried before and caused quite a few problems, especially for the left handers. The average score for the shoot in March was 32.325.

Stand 1 - Low driven standard, followed by right to left close crossing standard on report.
The crossing target caused a few problems and many thought this was the hardest stand.
However, 13 people straighted this stand and it turned out to be the 2nd easiest of the day.

Stand 2 - Shot from the left hand side of the lake, a simultanuous pair going away from right to left over the lake.
This pair caught quite a few out as the left target dropped below the trees if you were too slow.
As a result only 2 people straighted this stand and it was the hardest of the day.

Stand 3 - Simultanuous pair going away.
Fairly standard pair, no particular difficulties.
         7 people straighted this stand.

Stand 4 - Dropping left to right standard, followed by going away standard (coming from behind) on report.
A little tricky given that the 2nd bird was only a couple of metres above the shooters head.
Only 3 people straighted this stand and it was the 2nd hardest of the day.

Stand 5 - Right to Left crosser followed by standard going away on report.
1st bird was deceptive and did not need as much lead as it looked.
         8 people straighted this stand.

Stand 6 - Offset driven midi followed by standard going away overhead (from behind).
Driven target was not coming striaght towards the shooter and being a midi gave little time for mistakes.
However 14 people straighted this stand and it was the easiest of the day.
