April result

Another good turnout again on Saturday with over 70 people. The shoot in April was generally easier than normal, with stands 3 to 6 all relatively straight forward. However, you can't have them all easy, so stands 1 and 2 were made a little more challanging.

Overall highest score of the day was from P. Stacey in the A league who shot 47.

AA class winner M. Grimes 44
2nd R. Loy 43
3rd M. Garrad / L. Haysom 42
A class Winner P. Stacey 47
2nd P. Morgan / G. Newbury / J. Riley / M. Thompson 38
3rd B. Scotton 37
B Class Winner W. Daly / J. Carter / R. Sorrell 35
2nd K. Rule / D. Edwards 32
3rd G. Harney / P. Cornwell / S. Cartwight / H. Wade / S. Pain 31
C Class Winner A. Loveall 33
2nd A. Raza 29
3rd G. Lines 28

April shoot report

With Stands 3 to 6 all posing no real problems, we thought this might be the easiest shoot of the year. However, that was not the case. Stand 1 was hard, plus the first target on Stand 2 over the lake was particularly tricky. As a result, the scores were lower and this was statistically the hardest shoot of the year so far with an average of 31.736.

Stand 1 - Simultaneous pair crossing from left to right, shot from the trees.
Only visible just before they entered the trees. Had to be lightning quick, or ambush them.
Hardest stand of the day, but it was straighted, by one person!

Stand 2 - Right to left fast dropping standard across lake followed by standard going away on report.
First target was very quick so needed a lot of lead.
Second hardest stand and only 2 people straighted it.

Stand 3 - Right to left Simultaneous pair turning in the air.
Fairly standard Simultaneous pair, no particular difficulties.
         10 people straighted this stand.

Stand 4 - Left to right crossing midi followed by right to left quartering standard on report.
A little tricky, the midi was quite quite quick and then a completely different orientation for the 2nd target.
Only 4 people straighted this stand.

Stand 5 - Right to left coming from over the trees followed by rising bird from underneath (shot from the stand).
Quite straightforward stand with no real problems.
17 people straighted this stand and it was the second easiest of the day.

Stand 6 - Crossing pair, Left to right followed by right to left on report.
Again fairly straightforward pair which were almost both fully face on.
20 people straighted this stand and it was the easiest of the day.
